Jesus Cake

Christmas Part I: Christmas Eve with the Dunns.

Every year we spend Christmas Eve with my side of the family and every year we participate in the Dunn family traditions of treasure hunting in the freezing cold, stuffing our faces with steak, trying to stay awake through a boring Christmas church video, singing happy birthday to Jesus and making ourselves sick by eating the richest birthday cake in the world. And every year I love it!

This year was no exception, however it was a little different then others.

Of course there was this adorable addition to join in the festivities!

And of course I kidnapped him right away!

Until this guy with the permanent scab on his head came and pried that poor sweet thing out of my arms leaving me babyless.

The nerve!

That guy is my dad and he always has this scab on his head. It seems he has a problem with his depth perception or somethin because he is constantly hitting it on everything!

The corner of open cupboard doors, the bottom of his desk drawer after hiding his secret stash of Banbury Cross doughnuts, twice on the weight machines at the gym (because he works out two times a day), and this latest scab was caused somehow while he was climbing out of his car.

Even though my parents are divorced my dad always comes to my mom's house and sleeps over Christmas Eve so that we can all spend Christmas together. They have been divorced for about 10 years now and neither one has re-married. So this year my dad still slept over but there was another addition.

My mom invited her boyfriend, Bob.

Yup, my mom has a boyfriend. And if you ask her, I think she'll even admit it because the fact that she invited him to Christmas makes it official.

So Bobra and Brolan were our two new additions to this years Christmas fun, adding more drool, more crying, more pooping, and more sucking of boobs.

Wait. I'm mistaken.....there was no drooling.

Except for me. Over Jesus Cake.

Mmmmmm. Jesus Cake.

This year my mom spared us the torture of pretending to watch the mormon christmas video and instead she made us a slide show. I loved it! Bobra, the computer genius, helped her put it together and it was so much fun to watch. They really did a great job, everyone even stayed awake!

Well almost everyone.

Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen? Wait there's more!

We opened a few presents that night and I am proud to say that Logan's favorite present was the one his favorite aunt gave him, never mind that it was the only present he opened that night.

I made both my parents photo books for their Christmas gifts from Al and I. I think they liked them!

The rest of the night was spent throwing kids in the air,

trying to convince Albert that babies look great on him,

Changing poopy diapers,

suphicating while Albert was bench presseing me,

And we finished the night watching Fred Claus.

Notice Logan STILL enjoying his favorite toy from his favorite aunt!

cough...me...cough, cough.

I Understand If You Never Want To Come Back Again.

So I was tagged by Mmmm....Tastes Good to do 7 random facts about myself. I am not one to back down from a challenge so here goes!

1. When I was younger I thought that in order for the toilet to flush there had to be something in it. Don't ask me why, but I remember wanting to flush the toilet to trick my mom so I would always put a piece of toilet paper in it first, otherwise I thought it couldn't flush.

2. I have to sleep with a fan on. I can't sleep without the noise, even in the winter I have to have the fan going. I got this habit from my mom, she always slept with a fan on and I would always sneak into my parent's room at night and sleep on their floor. Now that I'm married I make Alex sleep with the fan on too, one time he threatened to take the fan away and I got so upset! I said "FINE, then I'll go sleep by myself in the guest room with my fan!"

The fan stayed.

3. It bothers me when things aren't even. For example, if one sleeve is higher than the other, I can't stand it! Or when I walk on the cross walk I consciously make sure that each foot steps on the same number of cracks. If I see a car drive on the side of the road and one tire is on the white line and the others aren't I can't handle it, I have to look away.

4. I have a retarded toe. On my right foot, the middle toe will not straighten all the way. No matter how hard Alex tries to straighten it out, it remains curled up. It drives Alex crazy because when I'm laying on the couch and the bottom of my feet are facing him, that one toe is staring right at him! Creepy!

5. I can't eat, cook, or do anything involving food without making a huge mess. Even at nice restaurants when the waiter takes my plate away there are crumbs and sauce all over my side of the table while my hubster's side is spotless! I go through about 15 napkins that I crumple up while Alex has one napkin that is clean and neatly folded at the end of each meal.

I think my problem is that I'm too tall.

6. I'm a picker. I pick everything on everybody. I would not marry Alex until he agreed that I could pick any zits that he happened to get whenever I wanted. That was our prenuptial agreement. When I was in school I had to sit on my hands so that I wouldn't pick the zit on the neck of the guy sitting in front of me. Seriously, it's a problem. Scabs, blisters, peeling skin, one time my dog had a little bump on his skin and Alex had to watch me at all times so I wouldn't pick at it. I need help.

I'll spare you the zit picking photos!

7. I am a list maker. I make lists for everything. Groceries, To do's, bills, home inventory, lists of everything! I make a list of what I pack every time I go on vacation or travel for work. Then when I unpack I make sure everything on the list is checked off. I decorate the titles of my lists every time and if I mess up, I have to throw that list away and start a new one. For example, if this were my list, it would be in the trash

I write rough drafts of every list and then I write a final list so that I make sure I have everything organized into the right categories & sub categories. It's an illness. I even wrote a rough draft of this list before I typed it up.

How sad.

Well, now that the whole world knows how weird I am, I want to know how weird you are! I tag:

And the Luckiest Girl in the World is...

....Me! Duh, remember?

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest!

Just so you know I do like to do things the old fashioned way. Well, I guess I do blog, I use computers, I have a cell phone, I text, I email, I do online billing, I don't churn my own butter, I don't make my own clothes, and I go to work everyday instead of staying home cleaning up baby puke (Which by the way I would LOVE to do!) so I guess the only thing I do the old fashioned way is pick winners...

...by drawing the name out of a hat!

Or in my case a paper bowl I stole from the break room. I do plan to eat my oatmeal out of that same bowl mind you, I'm always looking out for the environment.

But I just want you to realize that you have all contributed to my arthritis because I carefully cut out every single entry to put in that bowl to draw the winner's name.

Oh, you want to know who's name that is don't you? Okay, I think I've stalled long enough! The winner of the great Bath & Body gift & the bonus surprise is...

Hula! from Hula's Secret Blog!

Yay for Hula!

Alright Miss thang, here is what you are getting for your surprise gift:

The Sharper Image USB 2.0 Digital Photo Album Key chain

Now you can take your pictures with you wherever you go! You can bore people to death while your riding the bus or waiting in line at the grocery store!

Thanks again to everyone that entered, this is seriously so fun for me to do!

Murry Christman to all!

A Very Murry Christman Giveaway Day!

I was about 4 hours into my Christman shopping trip when I stumbled into Bath & Body Works at the South Towne Mall trying not to knock over any displays with my hoard of gifts I had previously purchased when I was suddenly overcome by an overwhelming sense of euphoria.

This Japanese Cherry Blossom was thrust into my face by a smiling sales associate and followed by a Bath & Body Works shopping basket shoved into my one spare hand, well one spare pinkie that is.

But I didn't care, the smell was wonderful! It wasn't until after this experience that I realized they had drugged me. They put some sort of magic drug or potion in that bottle of lotion that made me shop. So I shopped, and I shopped and I filled my basket with all sorts of yummy smelling goodies.

Upon checking out however, I was rewarded for all my hard work at buying out the whole store and given a free gift!

Hmmm. I thought to myself, what am I going to do with this free gift? When it dawned on me,

Hey, dumb ass!

You can give it away on your blog! So that's what I'm doing! So one lucky person will be rewarded for my drug induced shopping spree at Bath & Body!

And that's not all....you will also receive a surprise gift! Just because I feel that surprises are what Christman is all about!

So here is how you enter:

1. Leave a comment on this blog post for your first entry.

2. Link the contest to your blog for two more entries. And let me know by commenting again.

3. Follow me for three extra entries and also leave a comment telling me that you did so! (You can follow me through the link on my side bar)

Anyone can enter, if you don't have a blogger or google account, please leave me your email address.

Contest ends on Monday so good luck!

And one final thing, this prize does contain the Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion so I'm telling you right now that I am not responsible for any binge shopping this product may cause.

You have been warned.

Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. You Want Me To Rub Off On You. Trust Me.

The Christmas party friggin rocked! Not because of the free food. Not because of the amazing desserts. Not because it was Casino night & Albert totally killed it. Nope, not even because of the Christmas gift we all received at the end of the night:

The reason the Christmas party friggin rocked is because I won this!

The Human Touch massage chair. Yeah baby, that's right you can call me Lady Luck! All Albert won was a measly box of chocolates, he must not have been a good little boy this year. Not like me, I have been a very good girl.

Obviously.

When we picked up the massage chair and put it in the front room, it wasn't quite what I expected. There was no human in that chair at all! I looked and looked and there was no hidden massage therapist in that thing anywhere!

Which I was kind of relieved because I wasn't sure how to feed a massage therapist, I was planning on him living in the guest bedroom so that he could be well rested and ready to massage at any moment, but I have no idea what a massage therapist eats. Last time I was at the pet store I don't recall seeing a bag of food labeled "Massage Therapist Feed".

And what if he was allergic to cats? That wouldn't work at all, no way would I want my massage therapist sneezing and dripping his nose goo on me! So when I found out that Human Touch wasn't actually a human touching me, those worries disappeared.

Thank god for modern technology!

Only problem now, is that my hubster went and licked the chair to claim it as his! It's got this nifty drink holder so he thinks the chair is his video game-playing-swearing-and-ignoring-all-contact-with-the-outside-world-chair.

If I recall correctly, they called MY name at the party and it was I who walked up and received the winning envelope, and I believe it is I who slaves away everyday working for this company, not Albert!

All I can say is it's a good thing we have a massage chair now because after we wrestle each other to sit in it everyday we're gonna need it !
