Can't Touch This!

Does anyone else think that guys do not need salon quality shampoo? I mean they have to cut their hair so often that it doesn't even have time to get damaged.

Are ya with me girls?

Now women on the other hand have long hair with special needs that requires special shampoo and conditioner. This is what I have been trying to tell my husband, I NEED expensive salon shampoo and he doesn't! Which is why I buy his shampoo at the grocery store and choose whichever one is the cheapest.

So I told my sweet husband that if he even looks at my expensive shampoo in the shower, that I will do what my big brother did to me as a child.

Blow my nose into the towel so when he dries his face he gets a little piece of my special sauce!

Ok so I'm sorry about that don't worry there will be no more boogers mentioned in the remainder of this post. Feel safe to proceed.

Okay back to the point, so after many years of guarding my shampoo, the hubster came home from his haircut appointment and left me a lil note:

Can't read his handwriting? Okay, let me zoom in a bit:

Still can't read it? Okay, let me interpret it for you:

Kel,

These are my special shampoo and conditioner. I need them because, contrary to what you think, I have special hair with special needs. You are not to touch my special shampoo/conditioner. DON'T TOUCH IT!!! IT IS MINE!!!

I am SO going to use his shampoo!

*laffz* My hubby's hair's so short that he doesnt need much more than a drop or two so I dont mind sharing but he has to have his own. Thankfully, he goes for the cheap stuff which is wonderful because the cheap stuff strips my poor hair. Winter's worse because I need to deep condition as well.

Then fill up the bottles with the cheap stuff! He'll never know, mine didn't. LOL!

FRICKIN HILARIOUS!!!!

I bought hubby Costco brand (I think?) shampoo / conditioner and he refuses to use it. He doesn't like how it makes his hair feel. Weirdo.

I don't buy the expensive stuff, but if I did, he wouldn't be allowed to touch it either. :0P

angie said...

Hilarious note!

Head and Shoulders makes me tingle. That's as fancy as I get. I have enough luxuries that I shouldn't buy, so don't get me started looking at fancy shampoos!

Lee said...

Use it and keep replacing what you used with shampoo similar to it, but cheaper.
Then he'll always use the cheaper shampoo at the top of the bottle.

Yeah, it's evil.
But funsies.

Suzi said...

I tend to go for the expensive stuff since I have special needs hair. Hubby hates the stuff, says it doesn't get his hair clean. He is a dirt dog, so he gets it dirty. Fine by me. That was a good laugh!

That is so freaking hilarious! You always know how to brighten my day! I've missed reading your blog. You are one funny chickie!!!

SO I LOVE the trick with the special sauce, however, my husband would devise some evil pay back scheme which would involve his rear end in some way or some how. Now that would be revenge... But I digress. (I love that saying right now for some reason) Congratulations for having a husband with the testicular fortitude to get his own designer shampoo. And conditioner.

Tara Bennett said...

Yeah, my husband gets the cheap stuff to. And then the other day he stepped out of the shower smelling so delightful that I almost slapped him. I knew he had used my shampoo! And his hair is like 1 cm long. He doesn't need to touch the good stuff.

I would totally use the Crew. You go girl!

And can I get a 'wha wha' for the hammer pants? I wish those would come back in style too!

Maki said...

Oh my god, this is so funny... Actually my hubs uses the same special shampoo/conditioner as your husband.

The memo from your husband totally cracks me up - IT'S MINE!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting my big day the other day (wednesday) - it meant a lot to me..

I'll be back:) Gosh.. your post is funny..

I'd totally use it.... who sold him on that? Who told him different that his hair has special needs? Hunt 'em down!!!

And seriously? Your brother did that to you? I thought I had a bad brother... not anymore... I gagged a little at that thought!!!

Oh I loved the note! Special hair with Special NEEDS ....... hehehe

Now THAT was a wonderful sales tactic by his "stylist". Gotta give him/her a gold star for that one. Probably got a commission too

Ah, yes. The old hair product battle. I saw this coming for quite some time now...his retaliation. (and so enters the Crew duo)

Oh Al. That note is frickin hilarious...he told me he was going to write one. And just to clear my name here, I swear I told him there was no reason on this green earth that he needed conditioner (or special shampoo for that matter). But he devised a plan against our Kelly here, and there is no stopping that man. He asked for it. You don't come between him and his tingly/manly smelling/special hair product. Or a point he wants to make. So YES, YES PEOPLE, I sold it to him. But don't worry, I repented later for it...

Call Me Cate said...

My husband is a hair product whore. I swear he has more stuff than I do. And nicer shampoo, too!

But his trick is to buy "man" shampoo and soaps - things that smell too manly for me. I want clean hair but I don't want to smell like a dude!

My husband, on the other hand, would mock me if I tried to convince him to use 'special' shampoo. I urge him to at least use conditioner because it makes his hair so soft and shiny, but he thinks it's too girly, or too much of a hassle (or maybe it's the way I say "shiny"... I dunno).

Oddly, your husband's handwriting looks just like my husband's. Seriously, JUST like his!

Happy Sits Day!!! Men generally have so little hair, it just doesn't pay to give them the good stuff. I remember when our stylist tried to talk Mr. Sullivan into buying shampoo thst was supposed to make his thinning hair look thicker & more luxurious. Well that idea got nipped in the bud! $30 for a bottle that would last all of a few weeks because he is of the mindset that "more is always better???" I think not! It's Suave or White Rain for him- 41.00 a bottle and the hair is as thick looking as he could ever hope it to be....

Hi from SITS!

You could dump the fancy schmancy stuff into your own bottles and fill his new do-not-touch shampoo/conditioner with the lovely White Rain goodness! :-)

I, too, buy hubby the cheapest stuff - usually Suave. The most luxurious I've really gotten for myself is Pantene. lol! Someday, maybe after the expense of diapers, I can get myself a bottle or two of salon stuff. :-)

Mary | Deep South Dish said...

We have had this argument at our house too. The Hubs over here gets the cheap stuff. I have long hair, hair that has been (in the past) colored, teased, and cooked with hot curlers and curling irons. He has not earned expensive salon shampoo and conditioner. Heck, HE doesn't even NEED conditioner. 'Nuff said!

Happy SITS DAY!

Ha! That is awesome!! I've found, personally, that the Great Lengths shampoo by Pantene is really the best shampoo I have ever used. I think you should too. I have a hubby who thinks he has dandruff. He just likes the tingle of the shampoo. He wants me to buy the 9 dollar bottle.
