Yuletide Weed

Al & I are such good parents that we spoil our furry children endlessly at Christmas time.

Okay so last year we totally forgot to do Christmas for them! But this year we wanted to make up for it in full. So we went to Doggy Heaven (aka Pet's Mart) to shop for Dozer and of course we found the smallest bone possible for our little boy:

He wasn't quite sure what to do at first. His usual routine is to take the bone in his mouth and roam around the house until he finds a good hiding place (like the corner of a room in plain site) at which point he attempts to bury it by digging an imaginary hole in the carpet, dropping the bone in it, and then using his nose to push the imaginary dirt to cover it up.

But this bone wasn't exactly cooperating like the others. He tried to go bury it in the bedroom, but got stuck walking down the hall, he couldn't figure out how to turn his head so the bone would stop putting dents in our walls!

After Al & I were able to pick ourselves up of the floor & dry our eyes, we decided that we had put him through enough torture, not to mention our walls, So we helped him take his gift back to his bed.

Where he just sat staring at it for the rest of the night. It wasn't until a few days later that we figured out he would not chew on it unless we held the bone upright for him. Which of course we do.

We also went shopping for our two kitties. Hmmm, what would be the best present that would show our babies how much we love them?

Get them high!

Yep, we bought Boomhower and Smokey some Kitty Marijuana. That's what kind of parents we are, only the best for our kitties! We also got them a psychedelic kitty tube to roll in while they were tripping.

At first I just held the catnip in my hand, but soon it was all over the floor and inside the tube. Smokey was rolling around covering himself in it! He couldn't get enough!

Boomhower was more interested in the tube looking thing, he liked taking things slow and enjoying the feeling of euphoria while Smokey went nuts on the rug!

So after they had burned enough brain cells, it was time to take the magic kitty weed away and clean up the mess! I put the the goods back in the baggy and placed it up on the counter while I vacuumed the rug. After cleaning up the front room (in an apron of course) I went to get myself a bowl of cereal from the kitchen where I found this:

We created an addict!

Smokey had found the stash and tried to make a getaway with it. You can see the crazy kitty chew marks from his attempt to open the bag.

The Kitty Pot was EVERYWHERE!

Of course Smokey had run off and was nowhere to be found. I heard that denial is the first stage of becoming a drug addict. And since this incident, Smokey hasn't been the same. He's been talking back, his eyes are always bloodshot, he's been skipping school and sleeping all day. I even caught him stealing some cash from Al's wallet! I think we created a monster.

Anyone know of a good Kitty Rehab center?

Hot cocoa on Christmas eve, breakfast casserole on Christmas morning, and getting the cats high on Christmas afternoon. It's part of our tradition. Nothing says "holidays" like feline substance abuse!

Ha! Ha! I love watching the cats go nuts for the good stuff! Did you know that on your wanting bag you posted it was 'hoemade'? I wonder what she ever did to you? ;)

I love how your animals are your furry children. I feel exactly the same way about mine! In fact I just posted about how awful my dogs have been since we've owned them! Love your description of the kitty weed and how they're gay! LOL!

LOL LOVE the huge bone and the pup not knowing what to do with the thing! Totally cracking up!

Ohhh, the kitty drugs. heehee I do the same thing to Milo. AND I had put his little drug bag up on the counter and came home to find the thing all over the floor with kitty teeth marks, too. Those darn druggies! :0P Can't live with em, can't live without em!

I LOVE IT.

I'm glad to see my Shadow isn't the only addict around.....she tries to deny it too but we can always tell when she's been naughty or someone who will remain nameless, has helped her imbibe.

Our boy Moose is always a bit confused when we get him ginormous bones, he looks at us like, what kind of sick joke is this?

Rehab, shmee hab. I let the kitties toke it up whenever they want. I put a whole plate of the goods out and usually find Meow Mix passed out, face first in it. When he comes to, he tries to find the entrance to another dimension, which is apparently hidden in the corner of our ceilings. And you thought you guys were bad parents.. ah shoot. I love your furry babes, love em love em.

That is too funny about the bone and not being able to get it through the walkway.

Nothing more fun than torturing our animals... not torturing, I mean, giving them treats!! :-)

That bone is hilarious! I thought instantly, how did he get through the doorways?

And yeah, I heard once cats have cat nip - they'll do anything they can to get it... better find a fire proof safe to put the rest of the stash.... Let us know if they start wearing Tie-dye shirts & listening to the Grateful Dead!

*laffz* My cat doesnt even like the stuff...only way it gets used here is in a tea for me once a month...

Michelle said...

Man, you better watch that stuff. Next thing you know you will come home from work and the house will be full of the cats from the wrong side of the tracks and then there will be kittens everywhere and man what a mess.

Oh, and I only wanted one of these purses because they were hoe made. Until I saw the price, they I know they ain't hoe made. Too pricy for me, but if you get one and then tire of it I don't mind sloppy seconds.

So, I have to ask, and I may be sorry cause if it is sad I will cry, but where is Bain?

Looks like your furry babies had a great Xmas too. Love the bone, and the kitty crack was good. I had a good laugh.

Apron noted...So your cat "Smokie," no pun intended, is the addict. Now which cat ate the chocolate cake in the middle of the night???? Maybe this addiction has been unchecked for a while. You just opened the front door for him to fully dive into this addiction. I think up until now he must have been visiting the neighbors for his fix, then he'd come home to ravage your desserts!

Yep, kitty needs an intervention. Cause this will just lead to the hard stuff (whatever is THAT is).

I don't think Studley's had any of the nip in a while. I'll have to ask him in my best South Park voice - want to get high?!

Lee said...

I wish our kitty would get high off catnip.
She just gets bored of it. It's pretty sad.
And the bone thing is hilarious! I can just imagine that. It's like one of those skits on tv. Bone's too big, can't get through the door. Too funny.

My little Sugar is a Shiz Tzu. I wanted a Shiz Tzu Poo (OMG the cuties puppies I have ever seen) but the lady selling them talked me into a Shiz Tzu because of my kids. She said they were more durable with the little ones. Ha, we had him one week and a friend of Danielle's left him on the couch and he fell off. Hubby had to take him to the vet at 11:30pm because he was bleeding from the mouth and wouldn't open it. He came back home with an empty crate looking all sad. I thought he died. He said that he had a broken jaw and would have to have surgery in the morning. OMG. We just paid $300 for this puppy. What was this going to cost. I didn't know if I was crying because I thought I almost killed him or because I didn't know what this would cost. And, what was I going to tell my kids when they woke up and the puppy was gone. Called the next morning to check on him and he was fine. Only had a cracked jaw and he was eating and I could come and pick him up.

When I got there he was in a little incubator. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. $50 bucks and I was out the door. I guess the lady was right about being durable!

He has been the best dog I have ever had!

I want to know what your porn star name would be. lol

If you don't talk to your cat about catnip....who will? VERY cut post!!!

Thanks a lot. Now my cats think they are the only ones "not aloud as long as they live under our roof". Now that argument is going to be never ending. Oh, and lets see those pics of Park City all ready. You are in big trouble. :)

I guess I was a mean mommy, the only catnip I ever gave my cats was inside a furry pink ball. I'm not even sure if my cats ever got high from it or not.

Have you come into a room and caught them eating potato chips and laughing about nothing?
