Perfect timing...I did two nice things on Saturday.

First, I volunteered at a fundraiser car wash for a guy I work with. His wife has pancreatic cancer and we were raising money for their family to help with their medical expenses.

Second, I volunteered my time to teach the local high school cheerleaders the Thriller dance to perform at their home football game the day before Halloween.

That was 3 hours of nice things! That doesn't happen everyday for me!

Alright, I posted it on mine. Enter me twice, please!

BTW, I was thinking of you today as I was eating a Wendy's Frosty with fries dipped in it. I still remember the day you introduced that to me. Hilarious!

This IS a fun Idea.
Lets see, I'm hosing a baby shower at my house this Wednesday. I made my kiddles superhero capes. I use cloth bags at the store instead of plastic to help the earth. :) Are you lauging, cause you should.

Nice things done for me. My parents are sending us to Chicago to spend a week to celebrate 7 years of marriage and they are watching our kids while we are there!
TA DAAA! (if I win you have to help me with a fab idea of what to give away!)
love ya!

Im so in on this!

What I have done: I try to help others understand the cancer journey. I try to help others tell their stories and move forward in life. My Random Act of Kindness....I always give people the extra change that they dont have or dollar. I hate when you get to the register and you are short so I make so to always give the person $$...And today I gave a beautiful Hope Box to a cancer patient. I got it from Nana over at Nana's Box

What others have done for me: Wow so many people have done so many things for me. Random act of kindness would be Nana making and sending me the Hope box for my friend :)

I am posting about this on my side bar :)

Do you want to get in on my giveaway??? If you do go to:

Hi. I found you through Racheal. I don't know if you remember but I worked at Magellan with you Forever ago. I love LOVE your blog and what a fun idea. I can to play.

My cousin has three months old triplets I work long days M-TH so I can take Fridays to help her with whatever she needs. Cleaning, shopping, changing, feeding, changing, feeding and more changing and feeding.

Nice thing that happened to me. I left my garage open the other night and when I went back out to shut it, someone left me a plate of cinnamon rolls. I have no idea who. But I love surprises. It seriously made my day.

Hmmm, let's think. The other day, I printed off tons of old pictures and made two photo albums to give away to family members. They loved them!

I found you on SITS and I read Becky's blog daily! This is such a great idea for a giveaway!! I have been given a ton of clothes from a friend for my girls and I knew someone else that could use some as well, so I split them up and gave some to her!

Last week while pumpkin-shopping with my kiddo at a local farmer's market, we came upon a very elderly lady who was having a lot of difficulty navigating the uneven wooden walkway with her cane and shopping bag. My 5 year old carried her bag for her and I took her arm and helped her to the bus that was idling waaaaay over on the other side of the field (and seriously, when you are driving a bus full of folks from an assisted living/senior residence facility, wouldn't you park a teensy bit closer to the door? yeesh!) and then helped her onto the bus, made sure she was settled into her seat and gave her back her bag. This meant leaving the pumpkin my kiddo had selected behind (as I couldn't manage helping the lady, hanging onto my kiddo's hand AND carrying Kiddo's ginormous pumpkin of choice) and she didn't even complain. She was happy to help me help the lady to her ride. (I was very happy no one else snatched up her pumpkin in the 6 or 7 minutes it took us to get back to the patch.)

Anyhow, saw your comment on SITS roll call and wanted to say hello to a new (to me) SITSta!

Cheers!

The nicest thing that I have done lately. Is babysit my neighbors children on a friday night for a couple hours. So I had 5 kids under the age of 5. I almost lost my mind. But hey it was nice of me.

First of all, I am Amy's friend from Cali. :)

Here's my story:
It was Friday afternoon. I had just picked up my 7 year old from school and had the other 3 kids in the car too. I was bound and determined that I was going to go to Walmart to get the grocery shopping done. I knew going into this situation that by the time I finished I would probably be ready to pull my hair out and the kids would probably be going to bed early because it was just too much to handle. The kids were alright through the first part of the shopping experience, but then ya know...they get bored and unruly. I finally get to the check out and am already threatening early bed times for the oldes two. Anyway, paint a picture in your mind of what i must have looked like. I have my 4 month old strapped to the front of me in a Snugli, the 2 year old reaching as far into the cart to get things to put on the belt to be scanned (which I found out wasn't working after I had just about everything up there)and the other two are doing everything but just standing there and being patient. I am not sure what I actually looked like, but this boy who couldn't have been more than 15 stopped with his shopping bag in hand and said, "Do you want some help?" Now keep in mind it is my natural attitude to say something like, "Oh, no thanks, I've got it" and smile. I was so happy that this teenage boy took time out of his Friday afternoon to help someone who looked like they could use some help. I was so grateful. He totally made my day. I hope that my boys will remember that and do the same thing for someone else. And it was a great reminder to me to take time out of my day to help someone that might not be asking for help but could probably use it.
