Now YOU Can Thank God I'm A Sucker (Yes, This Is A Giveaway)

Two days before Christmas, I had to venture to the ghastly mall to pick up a few last minute gifts. You all know I hate shopping so this was a big deal for me and I was dreading the mall.

So there I was, minding my own business when some little woman with a beret and an accent asks me to hold out my hand for her. Ummm, I'm thinking, I'll just humor her but I'm not buying anything. This has happened to me many times before so I am now prepared for this type of situation.

So she starts filing my fingernail while she's talking a mile a minute telling that what she is doing is going to change my life. Finally she finishes and she asks,

"Are you ready to be amazed?"

She was dead serious, at first I kind of giggled because, hello? She was a walking infomercial. But she didn't laugh, she just looked at me anxiously waiting for my reply so I said,

"Um, yes?"

Then she lets go of my hand and I look down at the fingernail she had worked her magic on and behold, it was beautiful! The surface was smooth and I almost had to shield my eyes from the shine that glared back at me.

And yes, I was amazed.

She then asked me to try it myself so she walked me through it and in a couple of seconds I was done. Before I was able to look at the nail she grabbed my hand and asked,

"Now are you ready to amaze yourself?"

By this point I was totally mesmerized by her so I firmly said "Yes!" And she removed her hand from mine and behold, I performed the same miracle that she had performed just seconds before.

My nails were brilliant.

Then she told me that they would look that way for two weeks.

Two weeks!

Finally I just asked her the price. She started explaining about all the secret crap that they use to make it and blah blah blah, the kits were $59.99 a piece.

What? No way, I know when I'm getting ripped off and I'm not spending 60 bucks on some nail kit. She sees the excitement drain right out of my face so before I could say no, she throws out her lifesaver.

"Well, how about I throw in a second one for free? You get two for the price of one!" She exclaimed.

And then it was over.

"OK! Why not!?" The words left my lips before I even realized what was happening.

She got me. I was suckered once again. Albert is going to kill me! I thought, but I let her ring me up and I went on my merry way.

But I have to tell you, I LOVE this kit!! It comes with the buffer, a nail file, cuticle oil and lotion. When I got home that day I used it on all my nails and guess what? They are still shiny and smooth as I type this today!

But now I have an extra one that's been sitting on my dresser for weeks now and I've been trying to figure out who to give it to. I have two sisters so I can't just give it to one of them because the other one would most likely murder me and then knock the other sister out to grab the kit and run.

So, the only solution is to give it away. And what better people to give it to then YOU!?

Behold, Seacret Minerals From the Dead Sea NailCare Collection:

What, No Chocolate On My Pillow?

We finally made it out to California last weekend, we stayed at the finest 5 star hotel called Chateau de Dennelle's House. We were treated like royalty complete with robes and slippers, the only thing missing were the chocolates on our pillows.

I guess I can forgive her for that.

The concierge, aka Dennelle, mapped out our whole weekend so there was never a dull moment, well except that time we went shopping at the Tangerine Boutique, but I was a trooper and suffered through the torture that some people like to call shopping.

I guess I can forgive her for that.

Our weekend started with a tour of Temecula's wine country. This was a first for me, I don't think I've ever seen a real grape vine in my life. Check it out.

I even got a little taste test.

We were able to visit four wineries that day:

Falkner Winery

Weins Family Cellars

Callaway Vineyard & Winery

Hart Winery

My favorite of the day was Weins Family Cellars. Below is Dennelle with her men:

And here is me with my men:

What?

Didn't your mom teach you to share?

At Wein's we got to do a tasting straight from the barrel, very cool!

For lunch we had ourselves a little picnic at one of the wineries while enjoying the beautiful view.

Then we went inside this cute little winery called Hart Winery. Dennelle knows the owner so we got a little extra special attention. Mr. Hart gave us a tour of the winery and a little lesson on how they make their wine.

As you can see, Dennelle is paying real close attention to dear Mr. Hart, you can just see the concentration in her face.

That night we had a little party and were able to meet a few of Dennelle's friends. Man, these guys know how to entertain! Lyman is a chef and made the. best. ribs. ever.

Ok, check out this set up. It is like Man Heaven, they've got 4 TVs so they don't miss one game during football season. After seeing this room, Alex decided that he wanted to move in.

Permanently.

My response,

"Promise?"

Not because I would leave my sweet Albert there alone, although come to think of it, that would mean less laundry for me to do, but no, I wanna move in too! A girl could get used to this kind of luxury!

I Left My Handcart At Home

You wanna get some good exersize? Go to Vegas with Dear Albert. I guess I first need to clear up some confusion that I have caused about my hubster's name. I refer to him as many different things:

Hubster
Alex
Al
Albert
Bert
Mother Effer

Ok, I just threw that last one in there for fun, I actually call him Father Effer, I'm not THAT mean people! So there you have it now you know all those names are referring to the same person. Now back to the Vegas exersize.

Saturday May 16th 2009
The following events take place between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm

1. At the Caesar's Palace Forum shops, Albert buys pants for his sexy booty.

2. Albert buys a drink for his thirsty throat.

3. We catch a cab over to The Coca-Cola Factory

See these two? They are the very proud parents of my husband Al and his brother Brandon. (Clay is their son too but he didn't go Vegas)

Alex and his brother have a very special relationship, they love each other so much. They even have pet names for each other, every time I hear Alex calling Brandon on the phone, I hear "Biiiiiiiiiiiitch!" in a loud high pitched voice. That's how I know he's talking to Brandon. Isn't that the sweetest?

So Brandon thought it'd be hilarious to make his mean older brother drink hairspray. He challenged Al to taste the coke products around the world and if he drank the one that tasted like hairspray, Brandon agreed he'd pay for the tasting.

Most of them weren't bad at all, until Mr. Hairspray showed up.

But he finished it! (With a little help!)

4. Then we moseyed on over to the M&M store. Trying to get the guys to pose for a picture was like pulling teeth! That's why I am so grateful for Cris who posed whenever I demanded it of her. (never mind my death threats)

And of course we had to buy bags of M&Ms from the M&M wall!! My favorite?

Peanut Butter!

I fell in love and totally felt up Mr. Red M&M guy. You see that look on Albert's face? Total jealousy. I pretty much had to separate the two from fighting over me. Geez I hate it when two guys fight over me, talk about embarrassing!

5. After we walked out of the M&M store into the 102 degree Las Vegas weather, Alex realized he didn't have his sunglasses. And of course these aren't just any sunglasses, they are his Versace sunglasses.

When it comes to fashion I think Alex was meant to be a girl and I the boy. I hate shopping and try to find the cheapest crap I can get while Al buys all the name brand nicest shit he can. (Ok, in most instances it's because they are the only clothes that fit him, but still!) The sunglasses I was wearing cost me 10 bucks so I bet his Versace glasses had to be like 15 or 20 bucks at least! :o)

(If you can't tell, Al and I are both trying to grab some booby in the above pic)

So after he said something like "bleeper bleepin sunglasses bleep bleep bleeper!" He had basically given up on ever finding the damn, oops, I mean bleepin sunglasses again. But you know what we did? We walked and walked and walked in the 102 degree weather back to Caesar's Palace Forum Shops. Let's just say we all didn't feel guilty about eating our M&Ms after that.

When we finally made it into the shops we were all drenched in sweat and about 30 pounds lighter, except for cute Sharon, I think she would disappear if she lost 30 pounds! So we went to check the store where Al bought his pants which was like 10 miles away on the other side of the shops.

Those shop hallways remind me of intestines, they are all cramped in there like a little maze and if you could stretch them out they would go on forever! Do you feel sorry for us yet?

So after walking for what it seemed like 5 hours, we reached the shop. Did we find some sunglasses there?

Yes.

Were they Albert's sunglasses?

No.

Luckily, as an after thought, we checked the little drink stand where Al bought a drink after he bought his pants and guess what? They had his sunglasses.

And all is well with the world once again! See Al? Don't just give up on a $200 pair of sunglasses are you kidding me? You fight for those suckers!

Lesson learned.

But I don't think our feet have quite recovered.
